Normas para os colaboradores
Instructions for Authors
1. TAE is an online journal of the Portuguese Society of Anthropology and Ethnology (SPAE), a non-profit scientific and cultural association, that aims to disseminate knowledge in the vast field of the social and human sciences, with an emphasis on the traditional posture of anthropology (be it called social or cultural), which is the critical stance of decentering (as much as possible) and relativizing our own culture, seen as one among many, countless, living or already extinct cultures.
2. The articles intended to be published may include unpublished material, in Portuguese, Spanish, French, English, or Italian, in the form of articles, critical reviews, news of scientific events, and generally any content that serves to improve knowledge of the themes and the relationship between researchers, students and other interested parties. 3. Like the association itself, the content of TAE has no non-scientific purposes, obviously assuming that there are no neutral positions in any human knowledge whatsoever. 4. The proposed papers should be preceded by an abstract in the language of the article and another in a different language, plus three keywords in both languages. If the article is not in Portuguese, one of the abstracts and 3 keywords must be in this language. 5. Authors may indicate their academic and professional affiliation and e-mail contact details in a footnote on the first page of their article. 6. Citations of works in the middle of the text should be succinct (author's surname and page) and the final bibliography should follow the current rules used in the academic world, namely the author's surname, first name, date of publication in brackets, title of the book in italics (if it is an article, the title should not be in italics; only the title of the journal or collective work in which it is included), city of publication, publisher. It is not permissible to cite a work in the body of the text that is not explicitly included in the final bibliography. 7. The use of the spelling used before the Portuguese Orthographic Agreement is permitted, at least for the time being; ideally, this option should be explicited in a short note. 8. TAE is an annual journal, but it does not have a fixed publication date. Each issue will be considered complete when the editor/editorial staff of the journal deems it so. 9. The editorial staff of TAE is made up of the members of SPAE's direction. Members of the Editorial Board may be contacted (among other authors) as reviewers of proposed papers. 10. Each proposed article will be reviewed by two specialists, depending on its subject, whether or not they are members of the Editorial Board. The journal's Editorial Board is made up of national and foreign authors. This peer review is carried out in an open and non-blind manner (the proposed articles are reviewed by colleagues who know the respective author(s) and, in turn, the authors also know who has reviewed their work). 11. Receipt of articles is permanently open during the year for the volume(s) in preparation. 12. TAE is a free-to-access journal for both members and non-members of the association, based on two fundamental principles: access to cultural elements must be guaranteed to all; plagiarism, misrepresentation, or any improper use of another's work is obviously a serious offence. 13. If there are illustrations in the proposed articles, they must be of reproduction quality and prepared for the page layout, sent as jpeg files and accompanied by the relevant captions. Authors must ensure that they do not infringe copyright rules when using graphic material that is not their own. 14. Any aspect not covered by these regulations can be resolved by contacting the journal's editorial office, namely its director. SPAE's email address is: [email protected]. |
